Web Development Methodology

Designzoo's Current Browser Support Level: 95%

Designzoo’s development strategy provides browser support to a vast majority of used browsers, with a focus on emerging technologies and trends. We focus on cross-browser compatibility among our supported browser set, and do so by employing web design standards set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). http://www.w3.org We achieve this at no additional cost to our clientele. Additional support for browsers not normally catered to can be implemented, just ask, and an estimate for development will be provided.

Usability & W3C Standards:

In addition, our development process addresses browser-independent usability implications that include the use of assistive technologies to access website information (people that are visually impaired), and people that choose to disable functions provided by layers of integrated and additional technologies.

We do this by developing under the guidelines set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and abiding by standards set forth, determining the valid use of the HTML language. The W3C is the governing body of the Internet providing protocol standards and mandates of site development. Sites may be validated at this address: http://validator.w3.org/ You will note that out site does not validate. This is because this site is over 3 years old and we are too busy making sure our clients are up-to-date.

Furthermore, we utilize development techniques that do not employ HTML as a presentational tool alone, assuring that our markup remains free of non-informative data. We do not use data tables as a method of page layout, rather we reserve the implementation of tables for their intended use: displaying tabular data. Using tables for layout, makes HTML documents virtually inaccessible to people who require assistive technologies to view websites.

Additional Layers of integrated technologies are implemented in an unobtrusive manner, as not to compromise the functionality or usability of the site, as it would stand without these technologies activated. This methodology is applied in the highest degree, when ever possible.
